Middle School/Jr. High School Tier II Supports

Secondary supports are the additional programs and strategies provided to students who require supports in addition to universal supports. The purpose of secondary supports is to reduce the risk of academic or behavior problems.

The secondary support system creates the next layer of a multi-tiered, schoolwide model. Programs and strategies that make up the secondary supports can be described as packaged programs (commercial or created at the school) in which students are placed based on identified need.
