Description
The purpose of the Student Assistance/Child Study team is to develop intensive, individualized programs of support for students with significant difficulties. Due to the challenges students face at this level, it is important that the team include individuals with knowledge and skills in specific content areas (e.g., reading, behavior analysis).
Membership
The team includes building staff with expertise in the specific content area(s) identified as problematic for the student. Example team membership may include the reading teacher, special education teacher, social worker, psychologist or counselor. Ad hoc teams are created around a student. This may involve other interested or relevant staff (e.g., student’s teacher) along with the student’s parent.
