New State Board Continuing Education Units (SB-CEU) Procedures

The Michigan Department of Education has recently transitioned all approved SB-CEU sponsors (like Kalamazoo RESA) to their new online SB-CEU Secure Central Registry system (SCR). The new system will allow you to view all of the SB-CEU credits that you earn from now forward in one Secure Central Registry.

Kalamazoo RESA (MiBLSi’s SB-CEU sponsor) will now upload to the SCR the SB-CEU applications of educators who have met the course requirements. The State’s automated system will then send each applicant (via the sponsor) an email message outlining the actions the educator must take in order to be awarded their SB-CEU credit. This email will instruct you to create / access a Personal Account and complete a required common evaluation for that offering. The evaluation must be completed within 30 days of receipt of the email in order for the SB-CEU credit to be awarded. Once you have successfully completed the evaluation, you will be awarded your SB-CEU credit for that offering.

Because your account is established using your email address and all notification is done via email, please make sure that you use an accurate and consistent email address on all SB-CEU applications. Once your application has been uploaded to the SCR system, you will receive the automated email that instructs you to log-in to your Personal Account and complete the evaluation within 30 days to be awarded the credit.

If you have any questions, please refer them to your MiBLSi Technical Assistance Partner or your MiBLSi Regional Secretary.
